b. 2002 Aran Llewelyn is a Welsh photographer, filmmaker, and casting director based in London via Merthyr Tydfil, in the South Wales Valleys. His work is a defence of language, home, history and culture. Particularly of Welsh culture, but through the ongoing project 'Never, ever, ever, ever', he is making trips to the Basque region and Japan to explore further the cultural significance of language.
Aran is also part of collaborative casting project 'Valleywood' and is working on projects over at artist-led collective and agency 'TENSE'.
He has led workshops for youth from underrepresented backgrounds, inspired by his time learning from Clementine Schniedermann and Charlotte James early on in his career.
